In November we arrange the international tutor education! If you want to get friends from all over the world, show how things are done in Finland and improve your English skills – sign up for the course before 8th of November!
So what is an international tutor?
“An international tutor works as a contact person and friend for an exchange student. You will cooperate with other tutors in teams to provide foreign students a great stay at Novia!”
As an international tutor you’ll get friends from all over the world and at the same time improve your English skills. Your main task as an international tutor is to help the exchange students make their time in Finland and at Novia UAS as great as possible. You’ll have meetings with the exchange students, do something fun like go to an adventure park, bowling or just go and grab a coffee or lunch. When you have been a tutor for two semesters you’ll get 3 ECTS. So what are you waiting for? Take the opportunity to become an international tutor by registering for the international tutor education! Get your international skills upgraded a level, create memories and make friends that will last a lifetime, and also get 3 ECTS.
Who can become an international tutor?
Everyone who studies at Novia and are a member of Novium can become an international tutor. You can be born and raised in Finland or maybe just been studying here a couple of semesters. Everyone who has ideas, thoughts and experiences to share with exchange students are welcome to register for the one-day course and become an international tutor.
About the international tutor education
The education is a one-day course in either Vaasa or Turku, see the information below. The education is held in English and contains topics such as intercultural communication, cultural clashes, case discussions and of course what it means to be an international tutor. Tuesday 8/11 at 08.30-15.30 for international tutors from Raasepori and Turku. This day will be held in Vaasa. Information about the exact location (room number) will be announced closer to the education day. Wednesday 16/11 at 08.30-15.30 for international tutors from Vaasa and Pietarsaari. This day will be held in Turku. Information about the exact location (room number) will be announced closer to the education day.
