ACCOMMODATION
In Vaasa, Turku, and Raseborg independent foundations or housing companies offer student housing for domestic and incoming students. At campus Allegro, in Jakobstad, the International Coordinator informs about housing options.
Accommodation in Turku
The Student Village Foundation in Turku (TYS) provides accommodation for degree and exchange students. TYS has quotas for exchange students but degree students automatically get accommodation. You can apply for student accommodation online three months before arrival. The lease is made for a minimum period of five months.
Degree Students
Degree students can apply for housing in any location but note that there are only furnished apartments in Ispuri and Pilvilinna.
Exchange Students
Exchange students can apply for housing in two locations:
The Student Village, situated about 1,5 km from the City Centre, offers
studio apartments in which you have your own room and bathroom but share a kitchen with eleven other tenants
shared apartments in which you have your own room but share kitchen and bathroom with two other persons.
In Iltakajo/Krööpilänkatu 4, in Varissuo, about 5 km from the City Centre, there are shared apartments for two or three persons.
Since only part of the exchange students get student accommodation in Turku the rest will have to find private accommodation. The International Coordinator will inform you about alternative ways of finding accommodation.

In Vaasa student housing is provided by the Student Housing Foundation VOAS and by the foundation Lärkan.

If you want a furnished apartment please write "Furnished apartment" in the field other wishes. Box apartments are shared by 2 or 3 students. Each student has his/her own room but share kitchen and bathroom. If two (three) of you want to share an apartment you can apply for common accommodation. See the instructions on the application form.
Please note that you need to rent the apartment from 1st August (or 1st September) to the 31 of December for the autumn semester and from 1st January to May 31st for the spring semester. The apartment is available from the starting date. You pay rent for the full month even if you move out earlier.
